![]() ![]() I keep looking for reasons to get a better bigger saw.but in the meantime keep cranking out the work with this existing unit. Will blade and speed changes be much faster and easier?Īny specific recs on a older model used saw that will greatly improve production and user experience. My question is this?.What is a nice Doall or Kalamozoo saw going to do that this saw isn't/can't do that would justify getting another saw?Īre performance and production going to greatly improve over the results I'm getting now? ![]() Also cutting thinner 1/8" material quite a bitĪs a metric, I just cut 10 lineal' of 1/2" 655 silicon bronze plate with a 3/8" 10-14 variable pitch bi metal lennox blade, well broken in and very sharp and was getting 1" of cut per minute in straight rips and mild contour cuts. so I generally keep the blade speed at 78 SFM as an all purpose speed, and because it's such a PIA to change and tighten the belts. Size and budget dictated the purchase new back in 2000 when I was working out of my 350-400 sq ft garage/shop, but now I have much more room and 3 ph power in a new 3000 sq ft shop to upgrade to a better machine if I need,Ĭutting alot of 3/8" and 1/2" copper #110 plate, mild steel contour cuts in 1/4" to 1/2" small parts, and lots of brass and bronze plate like 385 and 655 bronze. I've been using a tiawan made 14" Wilton Tradesman for the last 12 years for all my straight and contour needs. ![]()
